Welcome
You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or unsure why things feel the way they do.
Perhaps you’re going through a period of change, burnout, or questioning who you are and where you’re heading.
If you’re living with ongoing pain, injury recovery, or a long-term health condition, and feeling the emotional impact it brings, you’re in the right place.
Therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and begin to make sense of your experience — with support.
At Brookfield Therapy Space, I offer counselling and psychotherapy for adults and young people, supporting you to understand yourself more deeply and find ways forward that feel right for you.
About Me
Hello, I’m Kim Russell, a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist and the founder of Brookfield Therapy Space.
I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore what’s going on for you — whether that’s something specific or a more general sense that things don’t feel quite right.
Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of themselves. My role is to walk alongside you as we make sense of your experiences together.
My own route into therapy followed a significant career transition after many years working as a dentist in NHS and private practice. Stepping away from clinical work involved burnout, uncertainty, and rethinking identity, alongside family life with two young children. That lived experience informs the way I work, particularly when supporting people who are feeling stretched by work, questioning sustainability, or navigating periods of change.
Who I Support
I work with adults and young people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including:
-
Anxiety, stress, and overwhelm
-
Low mood or depression
-
Burnout and work-related stress
-
Living with long-term physical conditions or persistant pain
-
Life transitions and identity questions
-
Relationship difficulties
-
Neurodivergent experiences (including ADHD and autism)
-
A general sense of feeling “stuck” or lost
You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting — we can explore things together.
How Therapy With Me Works
Therapy is a collaborative process. We’ll work together to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that feels safe and supportive.

I work Integratively, which means I tailor therapy to you rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
Taking the Next Step
If you’re considering therapy and would like to see whether working together feels right, I offer a free 15-minute introductory chat. This gives you the chance to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and get a sense of how I work — with no pressure to commit.
You can reach out via WhatsApp, or email. I look forward to with hearing from you.

My Approach
I work integratively, meaning I draw on different therapeutic approaches to suit your individual needs. At the heart of my work is the belief that therapy should feel safe, respectful, and collaborative.
In our sessions, we might:
-
Explore patterns in thoughts, feelings, and relationships
-
Gently work with difficult emotions
-
Reflect on past experiences and how they impact the present
-
Develop greater self-understanding and compassion
There is no “right” way to be in therapy. Some sessions may involve talking, others reflecting quietly or working creatively — we’ll find what works best for you.
What I offer
When working with me, you can expect:
-
A calm, confidential, non-judgemental and supportive environment
-
Therapy that adapts to your needs and moves at your pace
-
Time dedicated entirely to you
-
Respect for your individuality and lived experience
-
A collaborative and compassionate relationship built on trust
You don’t need to come with clear goals or answers — curiosity and openness are enough. We can take time to explore what feels important together.
