About me
Kim Russell
Hi, I’m Kim, an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist with a warm, down-to-earth approach. I offer a safe and supportive space where you can feel heard, valued, and understood—without pressure or judgment.
I work with adults and young people facing a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, burnout, bereavement, relationship problems, chronic pain, parenting difficulties, perimenopause, identity and sexuality, and the impact of neurodivergence. I also support people through life transitions, work stress, and family estrangement.
My approach is relational and person-centred, drawing from various theories including CBT, Transactional Analysis, attachment, psychodynamic, and solution-focused therapy. Therapy can be short-term or long-term, depending on what feels right for you.
In addition to talking therapy, I offer creative methods like drawing, metaphor, music, poetry, and breathwork—especially helpful if you struggle to express yourself with words alone. My Master's research explored how creative counselling online can be particularly beneficial for neurodivergent clients and those with anxiety or busy lifestyles.
I’ve worked in schools, with a social prescribing service, for a low-cost online counselling service and run my own private practice. Sessions are available online or in-person (Leeds, West Yorkshire).
